This syllabus is designed for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of fashion, beauty, media, and aesthetic movements through the perspectives of people of color (POC), queer and trans individuals, and feminist thought.

Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, this course examines the intersections of queer identity and culture, highlighting the contributions of queer and trans people of color. Students will engage with research-driven creative practices, exploring analytical and creative modalities together to challenge how we understand queer and feminist theory.

This introductory course explores the relationship between gender and power within contemporary society. Students will examine the social construction of gender, intersectionality, oppression and privilege, and activism and praxis.
